Reading
At Quinton Church Primary School, we value reading as a crucial life skill. By the time children leave us, they read confidently for meaning and regularly enjoy reading for pleasure. Our readers are equipped with the tools to tackle unfamiliar vocabulary. We encourage our children to see themselves as readers for both pleasure and purpose.
Throughout our school children are exposed to quality texts through our curriculum and are read to regularly by school staff. Reading is embedded through our curriculum to support each child’s learning journey throughout our school to ensure the best outcomes for our pupils are achieved. Please see the document at the bottom of the page for the different texts that we use to teach reading across the school.
